Launch Questions
How does Launch work?
You will meet with your dedicated career coach virtually via smartphone or computer for online coaching sessions. Your coach focuses on building a bond of trust, getting to know your unique story, and helping you overcome the specific challenges of finding a new career. Through regular strategy sessions, professional resume building, and intensive interview preparation, we empower you to land a career you love and identify the long-term education needed to sustain it.
Why should I choose Launch?
Launch is designed to fit your life. It offers complete flexibility, allowing you to meet with your coach at your convenience while completing targeted courses that accelerate your job search. Instead of following a generic template, you will spend your time building a personalized career roadmap that ensures you land a role uniquely aligned with your skills and goals.
What is the difference between Launch and the 6-month Leader program?
Launch helps you stabilize your immediate job needs, explore career paths, and build your foundational job-search toolkit.
Leader is an intensive, 6-month, in-person certification program.
Launch is the perfect runway to prepare you for the Leader program. Once you complete Launch, if you qualify and choose to take that next step, you can transition into the Leader program to gain advanced certifications.
I’m older and want to change careers. Am I eligible for Launch?
Absolutely. We specialize in supporting adults making mid-career shifts—especially those transitioning out of demanding industries like hospitality, nursing, or physically exhausting labor. We will walk alongside you to audit your transferable skills, explore high-demand career fields that match your strengths, and execute a step-by-step plan to successfully pivot into your new role.
Can I complete this program using only my phone?
Yes. All of our platforms and courses are fully mobile-optimized. However, while you can do most of your coaching and learning on a smartphone, we strongly recommend having access to a laptop or desktop computer for tasks such as resume formatting and submitting job applications.
Is Launch a requirement to join the Leader program?
No, Launch is not a requirement for the Leader program.
Leader Questions
What is the Leader application process?
- Begin your application.

Do you offer support for the math and reading assessments?
We offer online study resources upon request. Applicants have two chances to pass each test. If an applicant does not meet the minimum score on the first attempt, he/she can complete a re-test but must wait seven days before receiving a new one.
What are you looking for in applicants?
We are looking for motivated individuals who want to get a full-time career job and begin building generational wealth.
What is the turnaround time between application and acceptance?
After you’ve completed your application and submitted all of your required documents, our team will start sending out acceptances eight weeks before the class starts. Then, keep an eye on your email to attend orientation before your class starts.
How big are the classes? Do they fill up quickly?
Class sizes range from 50-60 people. We encourage you to apply quickly before classes fill up! In order to secure your spot, you must attend Orientation. Make sure to check your email to view the orientation schedule and sign up.
What are the days and times of classes?
For the first 6 weeks, classes meet Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and Wednesday nights from 6:00 – 8:00 pm for family gatherings.
For the remainder of the program, your career track training will either occur at CrossPurpose or offsite at a training partner between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Please keep in mind attendance is required Wednesday nights from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and you will need to be available for a one-time retreat on Friday night and Saturday during your time in the Leader program.
Will a felony record affect my ability to enroll?
It doesn’t matter if you have a previous justice-involved case or are on parole currently. If you have a currently open case, though, you would have to wait until the case closes before you can apply to the Leader program.
I have heard CrossPurpose is faith-based. Is the teaching religious or are religious practices required to be in the program?
No. While we are a faith-based organization, we welcome people of all beliefs. We respect everyone’s agency and journey. None of the content or curriculum throughout the core program is around faith or religion.
Are classes online or onsite?
The CrossPurpose Leader program is completely onsite, either at the CrossPurpose campus or another training partner.
Do I need a computer? What computer skills are necessary?
No, a computer is not required, although it is recommended. Some career tracks do require a computer for training. A basic understanding of how to maneuver your computer and use its functionalities is required (powering it on/off, opening up Google and using Google Docs/Slides/Powerpoint/etc.)
What skills can I get trained in?
Career training offered varies by class. After you’re accepted, you’ll receive an email from the Career Services department listing your available career tracks. You will need to select your top two choices. At Orientation, they can answer any questions you have about your career track. You can view all of our career track options here.
Do I pay for any of the skills certifications?
No, this program is at zero cost to you.
What is expected of me while in the program?
- You are engaged and consistently attend classes.
- You are communicating and participating with other Leaders and teachers during class and at Family Gatherings.
- Contact your Coach weekly as you work together to meet your goals.
- You complete assignments and Skill Track Certification.
- You get a job within your Skill Track.
- You attend Graduation.
What is the job search process? Does CrossPurpose give me a job? When do I need to get a job?
When you complete your Skill Track studies (or 6 weeks before graduation), you will begin actively looking for a job. While we have a Career Professional actively building networks within our Skill Tracks, you will need to apply for these jobs. It is up to you to look, apply and land the job. You need to get a job before the class graduation date.
What are the graduation requirements?
You need to be working full time in the skill track you were trained for in order to graduate.
What is the stipend? How much is it and when is it paid out?
The stipend is financial support contingent upon your full participation in the CrossPurpose program. Leaders can receive $50 for each family gathering attended starting at week 11, plus $300 at graduation.
Who is a Leader?
A Leader is a program participant or student. You are leading the change in your life.
Who is a Coach? How often do I meet with them?
Coaches are CrossPurpose staff who are here to walk the road with you. You will check in weekly with your Coach and will have at least one extended meeting time with your Coach monthly.
Who is an Ally?
Allies are community volunteers who serve as an added layer of support to you. You will meet them and engage with them the most during Family Gathering.
What is Family Gathering? When is it? Is it required?
Family Gathering is a mandatory time where our classes come together for dinner and community building on Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00pm.
Will childcare be provided?
Childcare will not be provided during normal class hours. Childcare will be limited, but will be provided during Wednesday night Family Gatherings on a NEED-ONLY basis. If you need childcare on Wednesday nights (if you have no other childcare options), please fill out a childcare application. If approved, you would be able to take advantage of childcare during those Wednesday nights. If you have other options for childcare (i.e. family members, babysitters, friends, etc.) we ask that you utilize those other options so that those who really need childcare can access it.
What are the reasons people drop out of the program? Do I have to pay you back if I drop out of the program?
The main reason that people drop out is because the required schedule is not conducive to their life and they cannot comply with attendance requirements. You do not have to pay us back if you drop out.
Why can’t I be on SSI or SSDI (disability benefits) to join the Leader program?
Those who receive SSI/DI are legally unable to work full-time hours. Since the goal of our Leader program is to get you into a full-time job and is a requirement for graduation, this makes someone on SSI/DI ineligible. However, Launch helps people find full- or part-time work, so this program may be a better fit for you.
Can I switch career tracks if I don’t like it?
Once your skill track starts at week 6 and possibly even a couple weeks leading up to that, you will be unable to switch career tracks since CrossPurpose pays for that skill track certification at the beginning of the class.
Can I switch locations or go between multiple?
No. Once you are in a cohort at a specific location, you will be in that group for the remainder of your time in the program.
What if English isn’t my first language? Can I still participate?
English doesn’t have to be your first language. However, you do have to be proficient enough to be able to understand and speak in English since all our skill track training is in English and the job market will require English speaking for the careers once graduating the program.
I’m not technically a U.S. citizen, I’m here on a visa or green card, is that okay?
You don’t have to be a U.S. citizen to participate in our programs. We have lots of immigrants in our program. We only require that you are legally able to work full time hours in the U.S.
Do I need a valid Colorado drivers license to enroll?
A valid Colorado drivers license is only required if you are pursuing a trades or CDL career track.
How many times can I apply for the Leader program?
You can apply up to 3 times for the Leader program if
Legacy Questions
How do I join one of the Legacy programs?
Each program within Legacy (Ascent, Fellowship, & Change Agency) has different eligibility requirements. You are a part of the Alumni Association immediately upon graduation, whereas the other three programs have applications and require you to be employed for a period of time before you are eligible to apply.
What support is offered in Legacy?
Each program will pair you with a coach you will meet with regularly during your time in Legacy to help you reach your goals. There are also both virtual and in person events to build community with other graduates in your program.
What is the difference between the programs the Legacy Team offers?
- Alumni Association: professional development, support, and career coaching provided for all graduates of CrossPurpose
- Legacy Fellowship: 3-year wealth building and financial literacy program working towards homeownership, saving, and investing
- Ascent: CrossPurpose supports upskilling and education courses for healthcare and trades career track graduates
- Change Agency: small business incubator for participants in the Legacy Fellowship
Am I able to participate in more than one Legacy program at a time?
It’s possible! There are some people who are currently participating in multiple Legacy programs at a time, but it will depend on your schedule and capacity at the time of application.
