Executive Leadership
Chief Executive Officer
Jason Janz
Jason Janz spearheaded the founding team at CrossPurpose in 2012. He has spent the last 15 years developing and refining a proven model that helps people climb out of poverty and into prosperity through deep relationships and community-centered support. Jason holds a master’s degree in theology and is driven by his faith to spend his life serving others. He and his wife, Jen, have made Northeast Denver their home for the last two decades in what they believe is Colorado’s greatest neighborhood. In his spare time, you can usually find him watching birds, wearing black, and hanging out with his four sons and grandson.
Chief Program Officer
Jen Janz
Jen joined the CrossPurpose team in 2014, bringing 25 years of experience in the classroom and a Bachelor’s degree in Education to her role. Jen’s belief that people’s barriers can become their opportunities shapes her leadership of Personal Development and our program teams, where she creates an environment and curriculum that identify, build and unleash individuals’ unique abilities to best serve their community and career. Outside of work, Jen enjoys time spent finding an earthly treasure at Goodwill or a personal treasure within a book.
Chief Central Services Officer
Steve Steele
Steve joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2023 after spending 25+ years in the career college industry. Steve has a degree in Pastoral Studies and Career and Technical Education. As Chief Central Services Officer, he brings his passion for developing people in their faith and career skills. He is satisfied by helping CrossPurpose grow the number of Leaders we serve and develop more effective admissions strategies. When he is not working, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife of 35 years, his three daughters and three granddaughters. He is also a Dallas Cowboys fanatic!

Anna-Bonita Avalos
Anna-Bonita joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2023 after numerous years involved in community ministries and overseas missions. Anna-Bonita’s passion for people and missions is satisfied through her role as a Launch Coach, where she will be a support to the leaders and staff. When she’s not working, Anna-Bonita enjoys spending time with her husband Angel and husky Lena. She loves traveling, new experiences and being evolved in her local church.
Leader Program Coach
Tori Bahtel
Tori joined the CrossPurpose team in 2026 as a Leader Program Coach with over 20 years of experience serving underrepresented and marginalized populations through victim advocacy, education, and community outreach. Her background includes supporting at-risk youth, teaching ESL to adult learners, and volunteering with anti-trafficking organizations, all grounded in connection, empowerment, and encouragement. Working in mission driven spaces has been a source of spiritual grounding for Tori, allowing her to live out her Christian faith through service, justice, and tangible support. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin and is a Duke-certified Health and Well-Being Coach with training in Trauma Informed Care and behavior change.

Dustin Barrett
Dustin is a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served for six and a half years, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Driven by his personal history, Dustin joined CrossPurpose to leverage his life experiences in service to the community. He has a passion for community service and animal welfare.

Billy Blankenship
Billy joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2021 after working with Youth For Christ USA doing operations and logistics for summer camps across the US. When he is not working, Billy loves spending time with his wife, Kyleigh, and dog Rory. He also enjoys spending time in the mountains, putting together puzzles, and finding the best food in Denver!

Chanel Bradley
Chanel joined CrossPurpose in 2025 as the Volunteer Operations Specialist, bringing over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector. She holds a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Management from the University of San Diego and has dedicated her career to serving others with compassion and excellence. In her role, she is passionate about connecting civil servants to meaningful community work, fostering deep connections that create lasting impact.
Identity Development Coach
Pattie Brim
Pattie joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2013 after 20 years of ministry in Georgia. Pattie’s passion for God, his goodness, and inner healing for all people is satisfied through her role as Identity Coach, where she teaches Identity Development during Personal Development and meets one-on-one with Leaders desiring a deeper level of personal development. When she is not working, Pattie enjoys time with her family and friends, reading, movies (always with movie popcorn), and the beauty of the outdoors.
Program Operations Specialist
Abby Brooks
Abby joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2025 after several years serving in mentorship, advocacy, and grassroots justice work. She holds a Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary and a Journalism degree from the University of Texas at Austin. In her role as Program Operations Specialist, Abby helps organize and coordinate the day-to-day operations of CrossPurpose, supporting Leaders as they work toward financial self-sufficiency. Originally from Texas, she now enjoys life in Denver with her husband, André, and loves spending time with friends and family, staying active, and unwinding with a good reality TV show.
Launch Program Manager
Lisa Cacciatore
Lisa Cacciatore joined the CrossPurpose team in 2022 after serving for ten years as a Club Director at Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver. She holds a Masters in Education from Regis University along with 15 years of experience in teaching and working with children and adults to create a positive social and emotional learning environment and facilitating trainings to build personal and professional development with youth development professionals throughout the Denver area. At CrossPurpose, she is excited about building relationships with people and walking alongside them to build them up and to create their own success story.
Launch Program Coach
Tway Clements
Tway Clements joined CrossPurpose in 2025, bringing over 10 years of experience working with middle and high school youth. A proud Colorado native, he now serves as a Launch Program Coach, providing instruction, career coaching, and operational support to help participants succeed in the 6–12 week Launch Program. Using strategies like motivational interviewing, case management, conflict resolution, and soft skills training, Tway guides participants to overcome barriers and build sustainable career pathways. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, bowling, eating, and relaxing at home.

Sam Davies
Sam joined the CrossPurpose team in 2024 bringing with him a BA in Biblical Studies from Taylor University and work experiences in the political, entrepreneurial, corporate, and nonprofit worlds. He is passionate about building relationships and empowering people to realize their dreams and achieve their goals. The opportunity to serve as a Career Coach aligns with not only living out his passions but also living into the heart and mission of Jesus to love our God and our neighbors by caring for their needs. He believes his core purpose in life is to glorify God and imitate Christ. Personally, Sam loves spending time with his family and his wife, Kate. Outside of work, he can be found in the outdoors skiing, backpacking, rock climbing, or trail running. You also may find him trying to find the best food spots in town.
Recovery Services Manager
Erika Estrada-Diamond
Erika joined the staff of CrossPurpose in 2024. She graduated from CrossPurpose in 2022 and has actively been involved with CrossPurpose by volunteering in a variety of ways including sharing her testimony with Leaders. Erika has a background and lived experience in mental health needs and substance misuse and has worked with LiveDifferent Recovery since 2023 to share her experience, strength, and hope with others to remind those struggling that they can and will recover.
Leader Program Site Director
Austin Foote
Austin joined the CrossPurpose team as a Leader Program Site Director in 2025 after spending almost 5 years working in emergency homeless services. Austin’s passion in providing a holistic approach to homelessness and poverty is satisfied by the ability to equip Leaders professionally, emotionally, spiritually and personally in their pursuit of vocational and personal fulfillment. Austin believes that every individual deserves to be radically loved, heard and seen. When Austin is not working you can catch him riding a motorcycle in the mountains. In addition, he loves to cook food, be outdoors, read, travel and play board or card games.
Leader Program Lead Coach
Chase Gibson
Chase joined the CrossPurpose staff in August of 2023. Chase has bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Youth Ministry and a master’s degree in International Community Development. He has previously worked in inner-city ministry, with refugees assisting them in finding meaningful employment, and with various non-profits. Chase’s passion for relationships is satisfied through his work as a Career Coach. When he’s not working, Chase enjoys camping, snowboarding, and spending time with his family and friends.
Director of Recovery Programs
Jazmyn Gray
Jazmyn Gray joined CrossPurpose in 2021 after serving in several helping professional roles. A 2019 graduate of the CrossPurpose program, she returned to the organization after experiencing firsthand the transformative impact of its work and developing a strong commitment to creating that same opportunity for others. With a background shaped by professional and lived experience, as well as multiple coaching certifications, Jazmyn helps lead CrossPurpose’s recovery and behavioral health initiatives, including strategic planning, program development, implementation, and fundraising for CrossPurpose’s LiveDifferent Recovery Community, recovery coaching and peer services.

Daniel Harcey
Daniel comes to CrossPurpose with 14 years experience working in Training, Organizational Development, and HR exiting his previous role as Vice President of People Strategies at a non-profit serving individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. He owned and operated his own coaching and consulting business supporting social sector leaders and organizations with strategic planning, leadership development, board training, and executive coaching.
Vice President of Partnership, Care & Recovery
Mark Haug
Mark joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2024 after serving the faith community as a Youth Pastor and working within Executive Leadership. Mark has spent time in Illinois, Florida, and Maryland and arrived in Colorado in 2010, leading individuals from all walks of life and in all demographics.
Clinical Director
Jaime Horsfall
Jaime holds a Bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver. With a career spanning the nonprofit and government sectors, she has dedicated her professional life to healing the wounds of trauma and investing in human potential.
Leader Program Lead Coach
Jimmy Jones
Jimmy Jones joined the CrossPurpose team in 2022 and brings nearly thirty years of youth, family and community development to his role as a Career Coach. Jimmy seeks to address economic, relational and spiritual poverty with a lasting hope, as he walks alongside the Leaders he serves. Jimmy faced many of the same life challenges as the leaders he works with. He grew up in poverty in the inner city of Denver during the 1980’s. While in high school he was invited to an after-school Bible Club program where he met one of his life mentors, Ted Travis. Ted invested many hours in him and eventually took him to a Young Life camp, where his own personal faith journey began. Jimmy seeks to invest relationally with those he influences and champion them in the same way he was invested in. The mission of CrossPurpose deeply connects, not only to his own experience, but to the calling he believes is upon his life to make a difference to the next generation.
Leader Program Lead Coach
Osvaldo Galaviz Jr.
Osvaldo joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2023 after 20 years of youth, music, and children’s ministry. He majored in Biblical studies and worked as a teacher, basketball coach, and foster houseparent. Osvaldo was born and raised in the south-side barrio of San Antonio, and he is proud of his Mexican heritage and the San Antonio Spurs. Osvaldo’s passion is to demonstrate love with action, inspire to revive, to have fun and laugh and encourage to build up. His life was changed forever on November 28,1998 when he found the way to live life to the fullest! That change transformed his heart to love diversity, culture, and all people. His role as a Leader Coach is a great opportunity to come alongside others as they seek to meet their career and dream goals. When he is not working, Osvaldo enjoys spending time with his 3 treasures: his wife Ely and 2 boys Uriel and Haziel. Osvaldo enjoys hanging out with his church community, Clayton community, and youth. Osvaldo enjoys anything and everything.

Christal Kennedy
Christal Kennedy is a dedicated Leader Coach at CrossPurpose, committed to empowering individuals in their professional growth. She joined the organization on March 17, 2025, bringing a strong background in mentorship, career development, and strategic planning. Prior to this role, Christal spent two years serving as a Peer Navigator at Denver Rescue Mission, where she worked closely with Denver’s homeless community, providing guidance and support to individuals in times of need.
Church and Spiritual Engagement Specialist
Josh Kimmel
Josh joined CrossPurpose in 2025 after more than eight years in pastoral ministry. He holds a B.A. in Business/Economics from Wheaton College and an M.Div. from Denver Seminary. As the Church and Spiritual Engagement Specialist, Josh is passionate about developing people and mobilizing the local church. He is excited to build meaningful partnerships with churches across Denver to further the mission of CrossPurpose.

Brittany Laster
Brittany joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2025 after years of mentoring women, creating faith-based programs, and developing resources to help people heal and walk in their purpose. Brittany’s passion for empowering others to break free from fear, insecurity, and limiting beliefs is satisfied through her role as Leader Coach, where she guides individuals into transformation and renewed confidence. Her responsibilities include leading coaching programs, creating spiritual and personal growth resources, and helping others embrace the bold life God has called them to live.

Cynthia Lopez
Cynthia joined CrossPurpose in 2015 after completing her B.A. in Community Development from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA. Studying community development replaced the sense of powerlessness around addressing poverty she experienced while growing up in the Dominican Republic with a sense of hope. As a task-oriented and administratively gifted person who prefers a sidekick leadership style, she is passionate about her role where she gets to support our team with all sorts of behind-the-scenes work. When she’s not working, Cynthia enjoys making people laugh, binge reading and playing tennis.

Anne Metz
Anne Metz joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2024 after spending five years as a collegiate coach, where she developed a deep passion for empowering individuals to unlock their potential and build meaningful, life-changing relationships. A guiding principle in her coaching journey comes from John Maxwell: “Believing in people before they have had a chance to prove themselves is the key to motivating them to reach their potential.” This belief continues to inspire Anne in her work at CrossPurpose. When she’s not working, Anne enjoys reading, playing sports, traveling to new places, and making memories with family and friends.

Melissa Mixon
Melissa Mixon joined the CrossPurpose team in 2024 as the Legacy Fellowship Program Director, bringing with her a rich background in nonprofit leadership and a deep commitment to community development and empowerment. With a BA in Spanish and International Studies, an MBA, and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership, Melissa’s professional journey is complemented by various certifications from her pursuit of ongoing education to be a better leader. Her belief that empowerment through relationships can transform communities guides her in creating impactful programs that cultivate relationship ownership and foster significant community change.

Rochelle Ngatia
Rochelle joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2016 after completing her Master’s degree in Counseling at Denver Seminary and spending 5 years in the addiction field as a counselor. Rochelle’s passion for encouraging and challenging people to meet their full potential in their lives is satisfied through her role as a Coaching Supervisor. Rochelle is married to Benson and they have three adorable sons. When she’s not working, Rochelle enjoys spending time with her family, camping and hiking, as well as traveling when she is able.

Kendall O’Donnell joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2025, bringing over eight years of professional experience in coaching, relationship-building, and event planning. His deep understanding of human behavior and emotional intelligence fuels his work as a Leader Coach, where he can empower Leaders to pursue fulfilling careers that foster financial independence, generational wealth, and Spiritual growth.

Nikki Otaola
Nikki joined the CrossPurpose staff in December 2025 after several years serving diverse and vulnerable communities across Metro Denver. Born into a family of Latinx immigrants, she developed a deep passion for community empowerment, DEI work, and urban leadership development. Her experience includes nonprofit leadership, supporting Spanish-speaking families in local school districts, and training in racial-ethnic identity development. She is also a certified DEI and Organizational Change practitioner through the National EIDA Center.

Kavon Pearson
Kavon Pearson joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2022 after eight years of working in the multi-housing ministry to the communities in the Denver metro area. His passion for justice, community development, and walking alongside people in their professional journey is fulfilled through his role as the Arvada Site Director, where he empowers others to achieve their goals. Kavon enjoys biking, hiking, and reading when he’s not working.
Peer Recovery Coach
Laura Perez
Laura Perez joined CrossPurpose in 2026 after graduating from the CrossPurpose program in September 2025 with a diploma in the Administrative Assistant field. She has been serving individuals in recovery since 2022 and brings both professional training and lived experience to her work. As a Bilingual Peer Recovery Coach, Laura supports participants through peer guidance, resource connection, and culturally responsive care, helping them build stability and move forward with purpose. Outside of work, Laura enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors with her family.

Elias Ramos
Elias Ramos graduated from Christ Mission College in 2019 with a Bachelor’s in Church Ministry. He was born and raised in the east side of San Antonio, TX, and is a Spurs fan for life. He has served in several pastoral roles such as Young Adults Pastor and Associate Pastor. Prior to working at Cross Purpose, Elias worked in the foster care system in San Antonio and for Aurora Public Schools District. As a Career Coach, he enjoys helping others reach their goals and grow in confidence. Outside of work, he loves cooking BBQ, hiking with his wife Ashley and their dog Chloe, playing all types of sports, and running his small photography business.
Ascent Education & Career Coach
Erika Rietema
Erika joined the CrossPurpose team in the unprecedented summer of 2020. Previously, she worked within Denver Public Schools, administering medical care and often advocating for children with special needs. Mindful of generational impact, Erika is passionate about coaching CrossPurpose Leaders, who are dedicated to improving their personal lives, careers and communities. She brings 20 years of leadership and mentoring experience, both with US college students and students in Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe and South America. She hails from Texas and graduated Texas Tech with a BA in Family Studies. Having been raised in the poverty stricken border-city of El Paso/Juarez, Erika is intimately acquainted with the constraints of poverty and hopelessness. Owning the mission of CrossPurpose and serving as a Ascent Education & Career Coach is the perfect “home” for her. She is an avid historical-fiction and espionage reader, loves to entertain, power walk, travel and spend time with her family and friends.

Roxanne Sanchez
Roxanne received her administrative assistant certificate in 2018. As a Launch Program Coach, she comes alongside Navigators as they start their journey with CrossPurpose. She is a very passionate person with a big heart who wants to help others navigate them to achieve their goals.

Rynn Sango
Rynn Sango joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2025 after working in the nonprofit sector for over ten years. Rynn has worked with many different populations throughout her career and community engagement volunteer opportunities. Her education is a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Metropolitan State University, and she is currently pursuing her Certified Addiction Specialist certification. Rynn has a passion for helping others find their gifts and encouraging them to lean into them.

Ben Sooy
Ben Sooy joined CrossPurpose in 2026 after more than a decade serving Denver churches and faith-based nonprofits. His passion for helping under-resourced neighbors thrive is shaped both by the Christian vision of justice and restoration, and by his own experience growing up in poverty.

Phil Souza
Phil’s life was changed through his experience at CrossPurpose, where he discovered the power of community, accountability, and personal growth. Today, as a Leader Coach, he has the privilege of walking alongside Leaders as they pursue their goals, overcome obstacles, and build brighter futures for themselves and their families. Phil is passionate about helping others recognize their potential and believes that lasting transformation happens through authentic relationships and encouragement. When he’s not at CrossPurpose, Phil enjoys spending time with his wife, Mina, and their two children, Luke and Charlotte.

Megan Vargas
Megan Vargas joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2025 after spending six years as an elementary and middle school teacher. Her passion for encouraging others and helping people not only see their full potential, but reach their full potential is fulfilled in her role as a Launch Coach, where she walks alongside people as they pursue their goals, overcome obstacles, and grow in confidence. Megan is grateful to be part of a community committed to transformation and empowerment.

Maya Boniek
Maya joined the CrossPurpose team in Fall 2024 as an Executive Assistant to the Chief Development Officer with over three years of experience as an Office Manager supporting C-suite executives in the fast-paced and dynamic production industry in Denver, Colorado. Her desire to make a positive impact both in and out of the workplace drives her to ensure the efficient functioning of the development team while also fostering a positive, supportive environment for colleagues and clients alike. Working at CrossPurpose has been a source of spiritual fulfillment for Maya, allowing her to channel her passion for service while enhancing her executive function capabilities. Outside of her professional life, Maya enjoys spending time in nature, finding peace and inspiration through painting, exploring music, and teaching Sunday School.
Foundation Relations Development Officer
Janelle Henderson
Janelle Henderson joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2025 after nearly 10 years as the Director of the Center for Urban Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver and her most recent role as Deputy Director of Universal Preschool for the State of Colorado. Janelle’s passion for supporting others as they discover their path in life and work to improve their futures—while fostering community, allyship, and opportunities for success—is fulfilled in her role as Foundation Relations Development Officer. When she’s not working, Janelle enjoys long-distance running, music and the arts, baking, carpentry, and going to the movies with her husband, who shares her love of film.

Brenda Pearson
Brenda joined CrossPurpose in 2023 after spending decades in the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Her ability to use her corporate background and passion for helping underserved communities aligns perfectly with CrossPurpose’s mission of providing relationships, tools and skills necessary for adults to exit poverty. Brenda is originally from California and has a BS in Business Management from the University of California, Riverside and an MBA from Purdue University. At CrossPurpose, she is responsible for developing and managing Individual Donor, Foundation and Government Funding Strategies. In her free time, Brenda enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and coaching youth sports.
Senior Director of Government Affairs
Josh Ryken
Josh Ryken joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2021, after five years on staff at Calvary Church, Golden (CO), where he worked on fundraising, operations, and youth ministry. He graduated from Wheaton College with degrees in Geology and Political Science, and his past work experience includes time on Capitol Hill and in Government and Public Relations. He is passionate about government, and excited to be working for CrossPurpose as Senior Director of Government Affairs. When he’s not working, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife, and two daughters, hiking, skiing, reading, and being outside.

Caitlynn Slocum
Caitlynn Slocum joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2023. After spending 3.5 years working in corporate talent acquisition and HR, Caitlynn is excited to transition into work that focuses on people and by extension the Denver community. Caitlynn’s passion for innovation, organization, and relational community are utilized in her role as Employer Support Specialist, where she works on the Career and Alumni Advancement team developing relationships with Employer Partners and creating employment opportunities for graduates. When she’s not working, Caitlynn enjoys time with her husband and children as well as outdoor Colorado activities, baking, and finding creative outlets.

Nancy Slyter
Nancy Slyter joined CrossPurpose in 2022 as a Senior Development Officer, bringing over 24 years of experience in philanthropic partnerships and nonprofit growth. She has dedicated her career to creating opportunities and programs that drive organizational expansion and meaningful impact at both local and national levels. For Nancy, CrossPurpose is both a calling and an opportunity to foster sustainable, transformative relationships that remove barriers and empower residents to thrive.

Roger Smith
Roger Smith joined the CrossPurpose team in 2026 as Vice President of Major Gifts, bringing more than 25 years of experience in advancement, nonprofit leadership, and external engagement. Throughout his career, Roger has led multi-million-dollar fundraising efforts and built transformational partnerships that expand opportunity and advance mission-driven impact. Grounded in his faith, he is passionate about stewarding relationships and resources to create pathways where individuals and families can move from poverty to prosperity.

Andrea Vega
Andrea joined CrossPurpose in 2026 as Executive Assistant to the Chief Development Officer, supporting strategic initiatives that advance economic mobility and holistic transformation for individuals and families. An entrepreneur and nonprofit founder, she brings a strong background in leadership, operations, and mission-driven work. With a Master of Science in Psychology, Andrea applies evidence-based insight into human behavior, motivation, and change, along with relational intelligence and strategic support, to help build pathways toward lasting transformation and wholeness.

Admission Specialist
Griselda Hernandez Arellano
Griselda joined the CrossPurpose team in September 2025 and brings nearly ten years of experience walking alongside students and families. She’s worked as an ESL tutor, supported students with special needs, and advocated for families navigating housing and attendance challenges. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, has worked as a certified occupational therapy assistant with older adults, and is a certified Spanish medical interpreter. Her passion for serving underserved communities is what led her to CrossPurpose, where she’s excited to support Leaders on their journey toward self-sufficiency.

Kayla Hanneman
Kayla joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2024 after graduating from the Leader program in 2021. She fell in love with CrossPurpose’s mission, which inspired her to pursue a position on the team. As an Admissions Specialist, Kayla’s passion for her community shines through as she assists with the admissions process for new leaders. When she’s not working, she enjoys outings with her children, spending time with loved ones, playing sports, and growing her massage therapy business.

Sheri Hughes
Sheri joined the CrossPurpose staff in March 2020, becoming the first program graduate to be hired by CrossPurpose. She considers it an honor and a privilege to work with such fantastic people everyday. They aren’t just colleagues, they are her family. Sheri’s passion is loving people well and helping them on their journey to a new way of life and a rewarding and positive mindset, which is satisfied through her role as the Admissions Coordinator. She is responsible for walking program applicants through the admissions process, administering required tests and retrieving pertinent information in order for them to be considered for review. When she is not working, she enjoys walks in the park, crafting, spending time with her friends from work and Providence (her church), singing, dancing, watching foreign films and writing poetry. Little interesting tidbit about her: She has learned to play three different instruments in her lifetime and recently taught herself to play the ukulele.

Regina Edmondson
Regina Edmondson joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2023 after spending over 20 years in the non-profit arena including higher education, criminal justice reform and community engagement. Regina is excited about the opportunity to bring community together to share opportunities and resources through career and community development.
Community Engagement Specialist
Erica Everett
Erica Everett joined the CrossPurpose family in 2025 after spending 3 and a half years living in Spain to pursue her Master’s in International Relations. Her path to CrossPurpose was significantly shaped by her experiences abroad. Erica’s life trajectory shifted profoundly in 2017 while serving at Camp Moria, a refugee camp on a Greek island close to the Turkish border. After spending two years in missions serving across Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, South of Africa and Latin America, Erica knew her calling was to come alongside and help uplift vulnerable people. As a Community Engagement Specialist, Erica now fulfills her desire to mobilize neighbors and partners in the fight against relational, economic, and spiritual poverty. In her spare time, you’ll find Erica traversing the mountains, scouting out bodies of water, painting, or having deep conversations with others about international humanitarianism.
Career Training Operations Manager
Jordan Hainey
Jordan joined CrossPurpose in 2023 after spending 15 years as an elementary teacher in Christian schools. Jordan’s biggest passions from her time in the education field were training, mentoring, and curriculum. She now gets to further grow those passions through her role as a Career Training Operations Manager. When she’s not working, Jordan and her husband enjoy traveling internationally. They’ve been to 11 countries so far. They also enjoy exploring new breweries and restaurants in the Denver metro area.

Stephanie Hewitt
Stephanie joined CrossPurpose in 2024 to serve in Community Engagement after first volunteering for 3 years for CP as a business leader in mock interviews. For the past 30+ years she has companioned with others in the architecture of change, serving in both nonprofit and business ventures that provide ways for individuals to grow and thrive. She has an M.A. in Counseling, and has worked for the last 13 years as a leadership and career coach, partnering with others as they discover and live out of their unique, individual design. She finds delight and fascination for how others live into the emerging expression of their calling and is grateful to work in an organization where those who long for change are not met with barriers but instead thrive in a supportive, dignity-infused community.

Whitney Holman joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2024 after years of working in the marketing and education fields. Whitney’s passion for helping others achieve meaningful goals is satisfied through her role as Employer Engagement Specialist, where she engages with hiring managers throughout the Denver Metro area to educate them on the mission of CrossPurpose, the skills our amazing Leaders have learned in our program, and why our Leaders will be an asset to their company. When she’s not working, Whitney enjoys traveling, spending time with loved ones, and laughing.

At her core, Laila cares about people’s stories—their values, their challenges, and the things that make them come alive. She loves helping young adults reflect on who they are, what they need, and what’s possible for their lives. Her work is shaped by empathy, creativity, and the desire to empower others to thrive, whether she’s connecting with students one-on-one, partnering with families, or building bridges in the community.

Kendra joined CrossPurpose in 2026 after several years supporting youth and underserved communities in the US and abroad in various fields of education, career guidance, microfinance, and mentorship. She has a BA in International Relations and Urban Studies from Wheaton College and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in The Gambia for 2 years. At her core, Kendra values connections with people and empowering them to reach their full potential – something she is excited to continue at CrossPurpose. Kendra’s passion for economic development, education, and supporting youth is satisfied through her role as a Youth Engagement Specialist where she builds meaningful partnerships with schools and youth-serving organizations in the community.

Procurement Officer
Joel Booth
Joel joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2024 after a successful career in supply chain management and procurement. He has extensive experience optimizing logistics, implementing advanced procurement systems, and fostering collaboration across teams, including leading the integration of SAP S4 Hana and devising innovative strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic to overcome global supply chain challenges.
Joel’s passion for serving others and finding creative, impactful solutions is satisfied through his role as Procurement Officer, where he ensures efficient purchasing processes, develops vendor relationships, and implements systems that support CrossPurpose’s mission of abolishing relational, economic, and spiritual poverty.
Central Operations Coordinator
Levi Bowland
Levi comes to CrossPurpose with a BA in Biology and an M.Div from Luther Rice College and Seminary. Prior to CrossPurpose, he had 15 years experience working in the criminal justice field as a Parole Officer and Community Reentry Specialist. He sees CrossPurpose as a place where he can use his passion for disciple making, love for God and vocational experience in community reentry to help others address all aspects of poverty.
Staff Pastor
Ray Brim
Ray came on staff at CrossPurpose in 2013 after 20 years of pastoral ministry in Atlanta, Georgia. His shepherding heart and passion for discipleship is seen in his advocacy for soul care, his teachings on spiritual formation, and his personal coaching of individuals on their discipling journeys. When he’s not working, Ray likes reading, bicycling, good food and entertainment, and living life in general with his wife, Pattie. Together, they value friendships, community and enjoy their family of five children and six grandkids.

Laura DesGranges
Laura DesGranges joined CrossPurpose as Vice President of Marketing in 2026 and is responsible for developing integrated marketing strategies that elevate the organization’s brand, deepen engagement, and expand donor and partner funding. Bringing 20 years of experience in marketing and communications, Laura is passionate about developing high-performing teams and creating cultures where creativity and purpose thrive. Outside of work, she will either be found training for an endurance race, singing at church, or on an adventure with her husband and two children.

Josh Hause
Josh Hause joined CrossPurpose in 2026 as Director of Resource Engagement, bringing a decade of experience in philanthropy, education, and partnership development. His connection to CrossPurpose began as a volunteer Ally and deepened through stewarding a grant partnership. When the opportunity to join the organization emerged, it became clear this was a calling to invest his experience in helping neighbors climb toward economic mobility and
building relationships that change what’s possible. In his role as Director of Resource Engagement, Josh leads thought leadership and strategic partnerships to help scale and expand CrossPurpose’s impact on poverty through pathways and a framework that cultivates economic, relational, and spiritual wholeness.

Holly Hooper
Holly joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2026 after more than 20 years in nonprofit leadership, most recently serving as Director of an early childhood center in Brooklyn, NY. She brings extensive experience in operations, team leadership, and building systems that support mission-driven organizations. Holly’s passion for serving communities impacted by urban poverty and creating strong, healthy organizations comes to life through her role as Executive Office Director, where she supports the Executive Director, Executive Team, and Board of Directors.

Amy Hulst
Amy Hulst joined the CrossPurpose team in 2025 after leading refugee and international education nonprofits in Denver and beyond. Since 2011, she has been involved in international missions and church planting. Amy has also started a creative agency and, with her brother, a leadership coaching group. She holds a Bachelor’s in Global Studies from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul and a Master’s with Merit in International Development from the University of Edinburgh, concentrating in displacement.

Scott Lanzen
Scott has been with CrossPurpose from its first days, leveraging his degree in business management from Maranatha Baptist University and more than 8 years of experience at Chase Bank to lead our Finance Department. Scott is passionate about customer service and discovering the story numbers tell which he indulges through his oversight of CrossPurpose’s accounting and bookkeeping, budgeting, the financial side of HR, and teaching financial education classes in Personal Development. Outside of work, Scott enjoys sports (football especially), motorcycling, reading, being outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Katie joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2014 after serving as an assistant in multiple organizations. Katie’s passion for organization, efficiency, and things done with excellence is satisfied through her role as Executive Assistant, where she manages schedules, communication, and events in an organized manner. When she’s not working, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and five children.

John Livingston
John joined CrossPurpose in 2021 after graduating from the CrossPurpose core program. Originally from the Midwest, John earned a Bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management & History from Iowa State University, and recently an Accounting degree from Western Governors University where he is pursuing his Master’s with an end goal of becoming a CPA. Through his own lived experiences John is passionate for those who have been justice impacted and/or are in recovery. His free time is spent volunteering, fishing, playing with his greyhound, or playing video games.

Bill Maddox
Bill has been a friend and supporter of CrossPurpose for 15 years. In early 2023, after 40 years in corporate executive management in HR and Operations roles, Bill joined the staff as Director of HR where he’s using his management expertise and love of the CrossPurpose Mission to assist in the growth of CrossPurpose. When he’s not working, Bill enjoys golf and singing in a men’s choral group!

Abby joined the CrossPurpose team in 2021 after spending several years supporting various nonprofits with marketing and communications work. She graduated from Wheaton College with a degree in Communications (Journalism) where she solidified her appreciation for the power of stories. Kerry Romero joined the CrossPurpose team in 2018, fulfilling the vital role of Bookkeeper. With a degree from Western Governors University and more than 20 years in nonprofit and government management, Kerry performs various accounting functions in service to the organization’s mission and vision. Candace joined the CrossPurpose staff in 2020 after majoring in International Studies and working in various non-profit and for-profit settings. Candace’s passion for serving others is satisfied through her role as an Executive Assistant, where she has the opportunity to come alongside others as they seek to meet their career goals. When she’s not working, Candace enjoys writing, thinking, exploring nature, traveling, singing, playing guitar, event planning, and making new friends. Fun Fact: She onced revived a pet goldfish by blowing bubbles into its fishbowl (to create oxygen) by using a McDonald’s straw.
