On Tuesday, September 23, CrossPurpose officially opened the doors to our brand-new Aurora campus, welcoming hundreds of community members, partners, and neighbors to celebrate our fourth campus in the Denver Metro area.
The 5-acre campus, located in partnership with Living Hope Community Church and Columbia Ventures, encompasses affordable housing, career development, and community life, all of which are woven together to create pathways out of poverty.
A Day of Celebration
Guests gathered in the afternoon for a festive grand opening ceremony featuring remarks from CrossPurpose CEO Jason Janz, Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman, and community leaders. They shared stories of resilience and opportunity, reminding us that the most important piece of this campus is the people in it.
Attorney General Phil Weiser remarked, “When the moments we’re living in feel heavy, (CrossPurpose) shows us what doing hard things looks like…You are building an island of coherence here in Aurora.”
After the remarks, guests explored the brand-new, 15,500 sq ft facility that is filled with original artwork created by Colorado residents.
Why Aurora, Why Now?
Aurora faces both a housing crisis and a workforce gap. By 2030, we project that more than 600 individuals will graduate from the Aurora campus, many stepping into careers at the city’s thriving medical campuses and beyond. Alongside workforce training, the campus also provides 137 new affordable housing units that will become safe, stable homes for our neighbors.
Looking Ahead
The Aurora campus completes our five-year plan to establish four campuses across the Denver Metro area, joining Park Hill, Englewood, and Arvada.
