Roger Smith joined the CrossPurpose team in 2026 as Vice President of Major Gifts, bringing more than 25 years of experience in advancement, nonprofit leadership, and external engagement. Throughout his career, Roger has led multi-million-dollar fundraising efforts and built transformational partnerships that expand opportunity and advance mission-driven impact. Grounded in his faith, he is passionate about stewarding relationships and resources to create pathways where individuals and families can move from poverty to prosperity.
With an MBA in Organizational Leadership from the Keller School of Management and a BS in Business Administration from Carroll University, Roger brings strategic vision and a deeply relational leadership style shaped by experience across higher education and nonprofit organizations. Originally from Canada, his work in 13 countries has given him a global perspective and deep appreciation for community partnership. His journey has included touring internationally in musical theater and competing as a semi-professional football player—experiences that continue to shape his energy, discipline, and creativity.
Roger is motivated by the belief that lasting transformation happens through relationships, dignity, and opportunity, and considers it a privilege to serve alongside individuals and families working to rewrite their story and build a stronger future.
Outside of work, Roger enjoys life in Colorado with his partner Allison, his three children (ages 21, 18, and 16), and their dog Lovey, enjoying photography, mountain trails, and time outdoors.
