For the millions struggling with poverty, finding a pathway to a thriving and fulfilling life can sometimes seem like an unattainable dream. CrossPurpose, a Denver-based nonprofit, believes the answer isn’t more aid, but more relationships.

Under the $4.5 million investment, which includes a grant from Arnold Ventures matched dollar-for-dollar by the State of Colorado, Colorado will work with CrossPurpose to institute a new program called Ascent.

One third to one half of jobs require education beyond high school but less than a four-year degree, yet only 13% of our workforce holds those credentials. Our education and training systems are misaligned with economic reality.
