About Our Program

Your free sheet metal worker training program begins with three weeks of personal development. These classes help you navigate the workplace, starting with the interview and hiring process and moving to topics like conflict resolution, teambuilding, resume building and interviewing.

What you will learn

The next step in the program will be entering your pre-apprenticeship training with the Master’s Apprentice. You’ll spend six weeks learning about sheet metal work through hands-on experience under the guidance of mentors who have worked in the field. You will go on jobsite visits, learn from guest speakers and receive additional tutoring if necessary.

By the end of your free six-week sheet metal pre-apprenticeship training, you will be prepared to:

Course Details

Class Schedule

  • Monday-Thursday, 9am – 1pm for first 6 weeks of personal development
  • Wednesday evenings from 6pm – 8pm for duration of the program for class participation with other students.

Upon starting your Sheet Metal Skill Track:

You will attend hands-on training for six weeks at the Master’s Apprentice workshop. After completing your sheet metal skill training, you will continue on-the-job training in the apprenticeship program on your way to becoming a Colorado sheet metal technician.

  • Complete a background check
  • 6th grade Math/Reading level
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Manual dexterity
  • Physical stamina
  • Some felonies and drug charges can be an issue
  • No domestic violence, assault, or child abuse charges on your record
  • Ready to work full-time in the field as a sheet metal technician.
