Tepeyac Community Health Center has provided affordable, accessible, integrated care to the Denver community for over 30 years. Tepeyac strives to be the most inclusive health care provider in Denver, offering comprehensive care for all with love, empathy, and humility. A member of the CrossPurpose employer network since 2024, Tepeyac has hired CrossPurpose graduates since 2020.

Amber Mozet, the HR Manager for Tepeyac, shares that the partnership has been mutually beneficial for both CrossPurpose and Tepeyac. “There are many careers within healthcare that CrossPurpose graduates are prepared for, and Tepeyac is a great organization for someone new to come in, use the skills from their program, and also to learn on-the-job,” she states.

One CrossPurpose alumni who has stood out at Tepeyac is Daisy, a 2021 medical administrative assistant graduate of CrossPurpose. Mozet praised Daisy’s upward mobility, highlighting how she joined the team as a front desk call center associate and is now a team lead heralded as a clinic leader by her colleagues.

When Daisy joined CrossPurpose, she was seeking a career change from her role as a certified lead daycare teacher. She credits CrossPurpose for helping her prepare for working at Tepeyac, including personal development, resume building, interview preparation, and more. “On the skill track aspect, I feel like I was given so much information that transferred over to what I am doing now. I had the opportunity to learn a lot through Penn Foster before I jumped into being in the administration end of the medical field,” Daisy reflected.

After five years at Tepeyac Community Health Center, Daisy shared her gratitude, saying the experience has been amazing and that she’s proud to be part of the clinic. For Daisy, the highlight of her time at Tepeyac is interacting with staff and patients. “From the very moment I started I realized that the staff here is just one big community, all working hand in hand to achieve the same end goal of providing equal and quality care. The biggest highlight, I think we can all agree on, is to see our patients happy and satisfied when they leave.”

The partnership between Tepeyac Community Health Center and CrossPurpose is a testament to the power of community investment. By combining CrossPurpose’s rigorous preparation with Tepeyac’s inclusive and empathetic environment, graduates like Daisy are building lifelong careers and strengthening the healthcare landscape of Denver.
