Each year, we walk alongside 100 neighbors from northeast Denver, as they work to change their lives and become self-sufficient. These inspiring men and women come from all walks of life, but share in common a drive and determination to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
Will you join us by becoming an Ally?
What is an Ally?
An ally is a friend, confidant, motivator, and accountability partner matched one-on-one with a Leader in our career development program. Leader-Ally pairs learn, laugh, and overcome hardship together and are supported along the way by CrossPurpose staff.
To be an Ally, volunteers commit to attend 'Family Gatherings', held every other Thursday from 6-8pm for 10 months, with new groups beginning quarterly.
Read what some of our Allies had to say about their volunteer experience:
"Before I met Bizi, I was overwhelmed. I was very aware of the world's problems, but I felt inadequate...too weak to change them. Since I met Bizi, things have changed. To be a true friend, I had to speak up. I became his advocate; he lent me his strength and I grew a backbone. Living different gave me courage."
"Tiye is the leader of our dreams, full of passion, life and love...Through the time we have walked together, we have learned to be more grateful for the little and big things, to pray when we couldn’t take away the pain, and most of all to persevere when life knocks us down. Tiye has become family to uS."
