Darin Valdez

Alumni Coach

Darin joined the CrossPurpose Staff in 2020 to help meet the need of many Alumni looking for employment due to the pandemic.  Darin loves his role as Alumni Career Coach because he is also an alum of the program (Class of 2015) and has been a volunteer and Ally since graduation. Darin’s passion for helping our neighbors is satisfied by being able to walk with our Alumni through the struggles of finding careers in these uncertain times. Before coming on staff at CrossPurpose he was a Certified Addiction Counselor at Sobriety House in Denver. His personal story and experience of trudging a path out of addiction and poverty helps him identify with and inspire Alumni to persevere in rough waters. He loves developing deep personal relationships with Alumni to ensure they feel supported and loved by CrossPurpose. In his personal time, Darin loves being involved in the recovery community and developing new programs to help people who struggle with addiction to find the beauty of living in sobriety. He also loves to play the violin. Random fun fact: Darin used to run Ralphie (The University of Colorado’s legendary mascot) around the football field when he attended college up in Boulder.
