Jason is a social entrepreneur and pastor, desiring to help spark a neighbor-loving movement in and through the Church. Prior to co-founding CrossPurpose, Jason served as the Executive Director of the Friends of Cole Foundation, and was instrumental in starting several key initiatives in the neighborhood, including a faith-based addiction recovery program, a nondenominational church, a ministry to uplift orphans, single moms, and widow, and a ministry helping formerly incarcerated men reenter society.
Helen currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of CrossPurpose in a volunteer capacity. She previously worked as legal counsel to The WhiteWave Foods Company from January 2013 to May 2017, most recently as Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel; as legal counsel to The Hillshire Brands Company (fka Sara Lee Corporation) from 2002 to 2012, most recently as Deputy General Counsel, Corporate and Compliance; and as a partner in a Chicago law firm. Helen has served on the board of several nonprofits, including Breakthrough Urban Ministries and Cabrini Green Legal Aid, and served in various roles in her church. She has a law degree and an bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Michigan.
Lauren is a self-employed nonprofit accountant, bringing her degree in Professional Accountancy and experience as a former CPA to the private sector. Lauren is a serving Covenant Partner at Providence Bible Church, and has served as a mentor for Save Our Youth and an ally for CrossPurpose. Lauren lives in the Whittier neighborhood with her husband, Joel and their three boys.
Terry retired from Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) in 2003, where he served as the director of the Rental Finance division, making loans to developers of affordable housing for low-income families and individuals. Since his retirement, Terry has served on various boards for faith-based nonprofit organizations. Terry also volunteers as a mentor for young people and for ex-offenders.
Dee Daniels Scriven
Dee currently serves as a regional representative for the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). Prior to ORR, Dee served as an assistant attorney general in the D.C. Office of the Attorney General, Child Protection Section, where she consistently managed a caseload of approximately 100 abused and/or neglected children. Dee has a J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University and is a member of the D.C. and Maryland bars. She earned her BA from Colorado College in international political economy.
Doug is the retired President and co-owner of Gypsum Products, Inc., an interior finish building products distribution company. He currently serves as Chairman of the President’s Advisory Council of Alaska Christian College, President of the Ideker Family Foundation, and is a member of the Board of Directors of several for profit and nonprofit organizations including Tales From the Tour (Phoenix, AZ), Cedrus Financial Services, Henrietta Building Supply and the Re-Discovery Foundation. He also serves as an ambassador for the Halftime ministry. He is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, married to Terrie and has two sons, Brandon and Tyler.
Louise serves as an Intake Social Caseworker for Denver Human Services and is a certified caseworker. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, with concentrations in high risk youth and criminal justice from Metropolitan State University. Louise is also a licensed Cosmetologist and has been a small business owner for the past eighteen years. Louise has served in various volunteer roles in the community and enjoys partnering with children, young adults and families to help them meet their needs. She lives in Denver and is the mother of two sons.
Juan was born in Bogota, Colombia, and immigrated to the United States as a Spanish-speaking 14-year-old. The founding board member of University Preparatory School and the Co-Founder of CrossPurpose, Juan is deeply engaged in serving the northeast Denver community. Juan and his wife, Courtney have four boys and live in the Clayton neighborhood
Gail serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Wave Financial Partners, an independent insurance agency in Aurora, CO, as well as the founder of AVYST, an innovative point of sale insurance technology. Passionate about personal development and community involvement, Gail has served as a Friends For Youth mentor and a CrossPurpose ally since early 2015.
